Abstract

Epilepsy is among the most common neurological disorders in children, characterized by recurrent and unprovoked seizures that can significantly impact neuro-development of a child. While many cases are manageable, 20-40% become drug resistant, demanding a shift in approach from conventional anti seizure medication to more personalized, etiology driven care. Advances in genetic testing and targeted therapies are reshaping treatment for drug resistant cases. This changing narrative emphasizes on early diagnosis, multidisciplinary care and child centered approach that prioritizes not only seizure control but developmental support and family well-being.
